Why I practise independently? I run ExHealth as a solo practice by choice. Every patient gets me — not a junior clinician, not a rotating roster. I know your history, I notice when something changes, and I’m accountable for your outcomes in a way that’s harder to maintain in a larger clinic.
Working out of Symmetry Physiotherapy gives me the best of both: the resources and relationships with a highly skilled workforce and professional Allied Health practice, with the continuity and personal investment of being a solo clinician.
During 2025 I participated in a week long Federal Government focus group reviewing Medicare and Allied Health services, providing practitioner-level insights into how exercise physiology is accessed and funded in community settings.
With looming Federal Government announcements around changes to NDIS, wearing an advocacy hat, case study and review information has been provided to Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA) for their use into the current Federal Government review of the NDIS.. Documenting real patient outcomes, informing how disability exercise programs are structured and resourced nationally is critical to disability support.
Media content on the use of digital health tools has been supplied and is to be used by the Australasian Institute of Digital Health, in a new campaign focusing on how using digital tools can be helpful in a health setting.
I was also a contributing author of a health and fitness resource published by the Victorian Government Department of Natural Resources in 2002, now known as DECCA.
Community health in Melbourne’s west is important to me. From 2016 to 2025, I was actively involved in community health programs through the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, contributing to the Sons of the West and Daughters of the West programs including being a member of their Clinical Governance committee prior to it being dissolved.
Given the importance of working with people in Melbourne’s west on health, wellbeing and community connection. I have also presented on health and lifestyle topics such as Women’s Health for International Women’s Day - March 2024, Family Exercise - May 2022, Women’s Health and Exercise- July 2021, Exercise and your Heart - May 2021, Learn how to create a successful and effective exercise plan - May 2021. These presentations have been held in conjunction with the Wyndham City Council bringing evidence-based exercise guidance to local residents across the Wyndham area.
Other presentations include APA Exercise is Medicine CPD webinar - April 2014 and safe exercise for SCARS - Nov 2013.
