Patient-Centred Approach

I’ll be honest with you: a lot of exercise programming fails because patients are treated as passive recipients of a program, rather than people who need to understand what’s happening in their body. My approach is different. I explain your condition clearly. I tell you why each exercise is in your program. I give you the tools to manage your health independently — so that over time, you need me less, not more.

Working with Symmetry Physio

Working alongside Symmetry Physiotherapy, means I’m based at Symmetry Physiotherapy in Hoppers Crossing. This isn’t just a room I rent — it means I work alongside a physiotherapy team and can coordinate your care directly when it’s appropriate.

If your physio has referred you to me, we’ll stay in communication about your progress.

If you come to me first and I think you’d benefit from seeing a physio, I can make that happen without you having to start from scratch. For patients with complex needs, this kind of joined-up care makes a real difference.

Assessment First

I assess before I prescribe.

Every patient starts with a full clinical assessment covering strength, balance, aerobic capacity, pain behaviour and functional movement. A good chat is where is starts.

This tells me your exact starting point — so I can prescribe exercise at the right level from day one. Too much load too soon causes flare-ups and setbacks. Too little means nothing changes. Clinical assessment is how I find the right dose for you.

How Programs Work

Programs are built around your actual life.

All my programs are needs-based and goal-directed. I use SMART goals — specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based — so you always know what you’re working toward and why.

No special equipment is required. I also write clinical reports back to your GP, specialist, WorkCover case manager or NDIS planner — so your whole care team is kept in the loop.

Empowerment

The goal is your independence, not your ongoing attendance.

I’m not trying to keep you coming to appointments forever.

My job is to give you the understanding and confidence to manage your condition yourself.

Every session, I’m working toward the point where you don’t need me anymore. That’s what good programs look like.
